It has come to my attention that people are confusing the Microsoft Windows Vista Magnifier with the Iconico Magnfier. They are different application, so make sure you know which one you are using.
If you want to remove the Microsoft Windows Vista Magnifier:
Click the windows icon bottom in the left of your screen. Go to control panel. Then click Ease of Access. Now click Ease of Access center. Now click on Make the computer easier to see. Now un-check "Turn on Narrator and/or turn on Magnifier". To finish click apply.
If you want to remove the Iconico Magnifier:
To uninstall please choose Uninstall Magnifier from your Start menu under Magnifier or chose the Magnifier under the Control Panel listed in Add or Remove Programs.
If you do not see the magnifier listed there then you may be using an earlier version, in which case simply drag the application to your Recycle Bin on your Desktop.

You Hate it? Really? I'm amazed that you have such strong feelings about a piece of free software that magnifies the screen.
You probably got it from this website, seeing as we made it, and then downloaded it and installed it. If you want to unistall it you could always try reading the uninstall instructions, you know the ones that I've written several times here that state you can unistall it by selecting "Uninstall" from the Start menu, or selecting the Magnifier from the "Add and Remove Programs" item on your Control Panel. If you don't see it then you probably have an old version in which case you can just delete it.
Either that or you could just keep posting here which won't help whatsoever, which is what most people do for some reason.

Congratulations, you have posted my favorite reply in this thread. Let me explain several things:
1) I did not make your computer, nor did my company, which is called Iconico, Inc.
2) Our product, the Iconico Magnifier, does not come pre-instaled on any computer.
3) Micorosoft has a similar Magnifier product which does come pre-installed on some systems.
4) We do not support Microsoft's software, only our own software.
5) You did not read any of my replies in this thread.
6) If you had you would have realized these points.
The only question I have is why everyone is so confused by this?

I kept getting the magnifier box on my mouse too. Had no idea how it got there I would be using my mouse doing something and then it was there. Tried going thought the control panel and unchecking it ,as was suggested, It was not checked.
Continued to look at anwers on line, found out that if you have a microsoft wireless mouse (it may apply to other mouses too). It's easy to hit a little botton on the left side of the mouse by where your thumb usually is; and that will bring up a magnifier box. Easy to do by accident and then have no idea where it came from. Especially for the uncomputor savey like me. Just have to click on the button again and it goes away. An easy fix no install or uninstall necessary once you know how it got there.

We have had reported problems with people not being able to use the software after it has been uninstalled. Our developers are looking into this issue and hopefully will have a fix available soon.

So what if you do not have a program on your computer that is a magnifier and the microsoft magnifier button is unchecked but when I sign in as a second user on a laptop, it is sitting there all warm and fuzzy waiting for me to sign in. I cant get it off the computer at all and nothing is checked, I have also gone into the magnifier files and deleted them all to try to get it to stop loading but it will not leave, its almost a virus.

First, click start....and click "run" and type "msconfig" -- please do not use " "
Second, go to "startup" tab and uncheck magnifier.

I think that you are talking about a totally different Magnifier as ours does not run at Startup. In the MSConfig window what is the Path listed to the Magnifier application?

We write free software to bring people to our website.
We don't write spyware.
We don't have any intention to write software that spys on you while you shop online.
The Magnifier is a free graphics design tool, nothing more, nothing less.
What's happened is that everyone has confused the Windows Magnifier, which does not uninstall like a regular application with our Magnifier. If you now type "Uninstall Magnifier" into Google you'll arrive at this message thread.
I don't know if you've made this mistake too, but if you actually take a look at our Magnifier you should be able to figure out which one you have. If you have ours you can simply uninstall it using the instructions that I've clearly posted above. We have not done anything to hide the unistaller, and would never dream of doing so.

I finally found what I was looking for in this thread about getting rid of the god forsaken magnifier that seemed to pop up on its own.. It is the right side button on my mouse. It defaults to magnify. This may be more of the cause for frustration than anything.

Software is more than just a bunch of numbers talking to a computer. Software is a bond of trust between the engineer and the consumer. In this light, Magnifier fails in no uncertain terms.
If my computer is like my house, and the system software is the interior amenities, then installing another piece of software is like installing a toilet. The installer program is like a workman who I have tasked with the manual labor. When I tasked Micro Soft with installing my interior I naturally assumed the toilet would be installed. But Magnifier is like a toilet in the living room. Now the workman has returned home and sent my money to his family in the South Americas and I cannot remove this toilet from my living room. This is a violation of trust.
I cannot fathom how a man such as yourself can look himself in the mirror. Maybe you do not have to. Maybe you prefer your toilet in the living room where there are no mirrors to reflect your guilt back onto your unthinkable face. For sir, that is the world you have created at Micro Soft: An upside down computer world of toilets in the living room. I expect in the future men like you will be put in prison for your shady craftsmanship and illegitimate business practices.
It should not be on my head to remove this inappropriate soft ware any more than it should be my responsibility to remove the ill-placed toilet that has been smelling up my den for the last 8 years. I expect Manuel to remove it and I expect a refund and an apology. Similarly I expect this Magnifer removed from my Vista program post haste and with immediateness.

1) We are not Microsoft.
2) We are Iconico, Inc.
3) Both Microsoft and Iconico make Magnifier software

I found a solution to this awful Magnifier problem. I installed a program called Shrinkifier (you can download it from Google) which also runs and it does the exact opposite of Magnifier. I can't uninstall magnifier because it somehow stopped my mouse and keyboard from working. I can move the mouse and see everything magnified very well but now it's getting a bit annoying and I just want to uninstall it. Your software is great, but I just bought 24" screen so I want to uninstall. I was about to click Uninstall button, but did a quick search first and found this page. Now I read and see how many people have problems and you need to have full web site to uninstall? i was just going to thank you for your clear instructions on how to uninstall the magnifier for windows. even though i was looking for the windows version, this page explained everything. i know some people are confused, but i assure you they are the vocal minority, or in some cases just dumb internet hackers trying to make a name for themselfs. 1-Forget the Iconico magnifyer!It isnt the one bugging 90% of these users.
2-The main problem is it is coming on AFTER startup.So going to start,access etc is a waste of time.There is no check in the box for startup!
