Using Webstyler Free Trial

In anticipation of the upcoming BitsDuJour discount offer on WebStyler, I downloaded the free Trial Version to see how it works.

I tried to look at a couple web sites online and it didn't seem to work at all, then saw text that said that the trial version would only work with "some" websites.  I have two questions:

   1) Will the trial version ONLY work with the pre-loaded "test" website that is supposed to be located on our hard drive after installation of the program??

     2) The location that is indicated in the address bar of the trial version is file:///E:/Inetpub/WebSiteStylerHelpFile/WebStyler/webStyler.html.  However, my "E:" drive is my DVD drive, and obviously it wasn't installed there, and all I see displayed in the Webstyler panel is what looks like a standard browser window saying "This program cannot display this page", with suggestions to check the spelling of the web site, etc.  Why was this test page attempted to be installed on to "E:" instead of C: or D:?  Is there a way that I can a)find this test page, and b0 move it to C: or D: so that I can work with it??

Thank you for your assistance.  The program looks very interesting, but I'm disappointed that I am not able to test it out with the trial version.

Ah... okay... some progress....

(Oh, and apologies for referring to your program as "Webstyler" instead of Website Styler.  Oops!)

I found the sample website page and images on my hard disk.  They were on my C:\ drive, not the E:\ drive, as they were initially indicated to be when I ran Website Styler.

Initially nothing would happen when I moved the cursor over the page elements.  I clicked on the "Refresh" icon in Website Styler, and after I did that, I could see the HTML code as I moved my cursor around the page in the browser pane, but when I clicked on an image on the page (after selecting the "Position Change" box) and moved the blue square in the bottom left pane, nothing changed on your displayed test page.  I also tried to change the color of some text, but although I un-selected the "Auto" box and selected a red color, nothing changed in the test page.

Is this because the file was moved from the expected location on my "E:\" drive (which is my DVD drive) to a location on my C:\ drive??

I'm wondering if I purchase this through the upcoming BitsDuJour discount offer, and I still can't get the program to function, would I be able to uninstall the program and get a refund?

I'm also wondering what the tabs at the bottom of the displayed web site page ("Quick Commands", "Colors", "Parent Element" and "Arrange Elements") do.  Nothing at all happens when I click on any of them (other than the clicked-on tab being highlighted).  Is this normal behavior, or is something supposed to happen when those are clicked on?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to see how this works.

Thanks in advance for your reply...

In my previous post, I should have said I saw no change after I moved the blue box in the lower RIGHT pane to a different position -- not the lower LEFT pane...

You can move any HTML element by doing the following:
- click on the double arrow (left right) green button in the "Selected Element" tab to ensure that the "Position Change" check box is checked and that the "Follow Links" check box is unchecked. You can also check these two check boxes manually to ensure their state.
- then click on any HTML element on the opened page and then move the blue rectangle. This should move the HTML element which you clicked on.

Just above the bottom tabs there should be a green line. Please click the line and drag it upwards. This will reveal the content of the tabs you mention.

The trial version of the application will work with the installed HTML file you mentioned but it should also work with a few other sites included in the address drop down like:
http://www.iconico.com/fastwhois/
http://www.iconico.com/clipstory/
http://www.iconico.com/linereader/
http://www.iconico.com/colorpro/
http://www.iconico.com/imagefilterpro/
http://www.iconico.com/windownudger/
http://www.wikipedia.org/
http://www.bing.com/
http://www.google.com
but please notice that some of the sites may revert to another domain. For example google.com will revert to google.XY where XY is the TLD of your country. Google.XY is viewed as another site and won't work in the trial version.

We also have a 30 day money back guarantee.
